Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, striking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could help the team enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.

According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Explorers and Planners parties.
